Discovering Rome

You will reach Rome in about an hour and a half. The first stop of the tour is Vatican City where you can admire St. Peter's Square, St. Peter's Basilica and, on request, you can visit the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel (you can book the guided tour with us and you will find the ticket entry by car avoiding long queues).

We will continue with a panoramic tour of Castel Sant'Angelo, of the Tiber Island (Isola Tiberina) the only urban island of the Tiber river, of the Baths of Caracalla (terme di Caracalla), of the majestic Colosseum, via Circo Massimo and making a stop at the famous Mouth of Truth (Bocca della Verità) of which many popular legends tell for which it seems that the mouth bites the hand of those who don’t affirm the truth, hence the name.

 

The tour will continue towards Ancient Rome. Crossing Via dei Fori Imperiali you can see the ruins of imperial Rome, so you can admire the Teatro Marcello. You will then go up to the Campidoglio, one of the seven Roman hills, to continue towards Piazza Venezia with the Vittoriano complex. Walking along the Roman shopping streets you reach Piazza di Spagna with the famous Trinità dei Monti staircase, then you will be amazed by the size of the Trevi Fountain before reaching the Pantheon and finally Piazza Navona, one of the most "artistic" squares in Rome , founded on the remains of the Stadium of Domitian.

So, you just have to stop for lunch and we could recommend restaurants or trattorias where you can taste the best dishes of Roman cuisine.

Around 03.00pm, departure for the Port of Civitavecchia is scheduled, where the driver will accompany you to the terminal of your cruise ship.
